Unique things about Linh Ung’s well-known pagodas

Surely many visitors are wondering that even though it has the same name as Linh Ung Pagoda, is there any unique difference between the three temples? Let us guide you to each temple.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda

Interestingly, Da Nang Tourism owns all three Linh Ung temples. But the Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra peninsula is probably the most well-known and remembered. It is the largest temple in Da Nang, both in size and architecture.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda

The Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda is on the Son Tra peninsula, about 10 km northeast of Da Nang.

During the reign of King Minh Mang (in the 19th century, during the Nguyen Dynasty), an inexplicable Buddha statue is said to have washed up on the beach here.

The fishermen along the coast saw it and thought it was a good sign, so they built a shrine.

Lord Avalokitesvara appeared to save people from danger. Because of this, the waves and sea were calm, and fishermen could do their business without worrying. The Buddha statues gathered on a sandy beach called Bai But then.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda was built in a way that brings together the old and new styles of Vietnamese Buddhist architecture.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda

The pagoda comprises the ancestral house, the main hall, the garden of Arhat statues, the library, the canteen, etc.

The design in the main hall has a curved dome structure like a dragon, and the pillars also carved many dragons gliding from top to bottom.

The main hall covers a large area and can handle many people. This is also the temple’s most peaceful and holy spot.

The statue of Bodhisattva, which is 67m tall and has a 35m diameter lotus, is the unique thing of the Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda’s design. It is the highest statue of the Bodhisattva in Southeast Asia.

There are 12 floors inside the statue, and there will be a place to put a Buddha statue on each floor. The figure stands with its back against the mountain and its eyes looking out to the sea as if Bodhisattva wants to show compassion to all living things.

Many of the things above make each person who comes here excited.

Visitors will feel the coolness of the trees around the temple as they step inside. On the temple grounds, cool shade trees are everywhere where people can sit and talk while enjoying the wind.

Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda is not only a great place to see beautiful scenery, but it is also Da Nang’s most popular spiritual tourist spot.

At the same time, many monks, nuns, and Buddhists come here to talk, study, and worship.

Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda

The Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda is in the village of An Loi, Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, and Da Nang City. There are many ways to get to Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda, such as renting a motorbike, a taxi, or a car.

The Ba Na Hill tourist area is where the Linh Ung Pagoda – is located nearly 1500m above sea level on a beautiful and poetic landscape.

On clear days, you can see the sea 30km away and the whole city from the top of the temple.

The Linh Ung Pagoda in Ba Na was built from 1999 to 2004. Its design is based on the style of the Northern sect.

The pagoda has a big courtyard with a marble floor, and on the left side is a pine tree with three different kinds of leaves. In the main hall, a drum is up to 2.4m high and is used for worship.

The pagoda has the tallest statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in Vietnam. It is 27m tall and sits on a lotus platform that is 6m high.

Under the statue of Buddha are 8 reliefs that show scenes from the life of Shakyamuni Buddha, the man who started Buddhism.

The most prominent feature of Linh Ung Ba Na temple is at the top of the high mountain. The entire temple is covered in a fanciful mountain and forest space. Early in the morning, the temple is engulfed in mist.

Overhead, the sun slowly comes up to burn off the fog and shine on the temple’s roof. At the same time, many layers of white clouds are floating through the air in this scene.

When you visit, you will feel like you can easily touch each layer of clouds.

People come to Linh Ung Pagoda on Ba Na to pray for a peaceful and happy life. You can take a break and find peace in a spiritually pure place when you come here.
